Scope:  The Director of Site Development develops and directs the strategic planning over multiple projects within a given market and oversees the coordination of Project Management personnel and resources required to successfully deliver projects on schedule, to specifications, and within budget while adhering to company and client standards. The Director leads the team to success by implementing and maintaining project management methodologies, coaching and developing employees, and applying standards and tools to all projects and programs to ensure financial profitability.

Reports To: Vice President

Classification: Exempt

Hours: Mon-Fri (may vary based on project needs)

Supervisory Responsibility: Project Manager(s)

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead the Project Management Team by creating a team culture of proactive communication, efficiency and problem-solving
  • Assist the PM to define project scope, schedule, cost, resources, quality, forecasts (including financial) and deliverables in collaboration with customers and internal executive management
  • Leverage people, process and technology to guide project team members in continually improving processes, client relationships and work delivery
  • Enter and track all project related data in a cloud-based platform according to company standards
  • Motivate PM team members to participate in a collaborative environment
  • Maintain continuous awareness and knowledge of project(s) and program(s) status’
  • Coach and develop the project management team with education and training support
  • Address employee obstacles quickly and nimbly
  • Coach and develop project team through on the spot and formalized feedback through the Performance Management Program
  • Formalize Performance Improvement Plans with the assistance of the VP, HR and the PM
  • Formalize employee promotions
  • Recommend Progressive Discipline, as required
  • Interview and assess candidates to support project position(s) necessary for the success of the program(s)
  • Develop and/or refine standard operating procedures (“SOP”) which improve processes and promote efficiency including introducing new PM and project team strategies for a project
  • Collaborate with Accounting to create and track project financials to ensure projects stay within budget
  • Utilize reporting tools to guide PM’s to meet daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
  • Perform risk analysis for projects on a monthly basis
  • Maintain the project team’s accountability to defined process standards
  • Manage day to day PM team client communication and participate in client meetings
  • Create, modify, and maintain monthly reports highlighting project KPIs and key benchmarks
  • Manage workload of PMs and communicate to VP team when more personnel and/or resources are needed
  • Assign development tasks and ensure deadlines are fulfilled and budgets are met by all project contributors
  • Provide feedback and ideas to VP & Executive team to strengthen the company’s effectiveness and efficiencies

Functional/Technical Requirements:

  • Previous project management experience
  • Comfortable communicating with clients and third parties
  • Work well independently
  • Great time management skills
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and maintain schedules
  • Strong problem-solving and analytic skills
  • Ability to lead a team
  • Ability to track financials such as budget, margin, invoicing, revenue recognition which includes baselining monthly and quarterly goals and manage weekly performance against those goals
  • Collaborate with coworkers and interface with clients
  • Ability to work in a fast- paced environment, easily adapting to directional shifts
  • Self-motivated learner willing to read and keep up-to-date on technological changes
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Salesforce background/experience (Preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license required

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
  • Experience in wireless, telecommunications, construction, public utility, or related industry
  • Project Management experience (Preferably in Telecommunications)
  • Experience with financial accountability
